No one? How quickly you've forgotten the drama that surfaced over Bill's various immoral escapades.
He's gotten his 15 minutes of fame in the past just like Katy is now.
Bill who?

Funny that people have forgotten another scandal involving a certain evangelical named Ted that appears to have been swept under the rug.

So much for Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

So I'm just wondering, what would make this wonderful, exemplary Christian in the CCM scene from several years ago turn the tables and do this salacious little ditty?

Ask the people of New Life Church in CO how quickly and easily they've forgotten the pain caused by Ted's extracurricular activities.

And as far as what caused Katy to make the choice that she has, is it really that difficult to see? To me, this life is pretty simple to figure out. Our choices are 'kingdom and righteousness' or 'other'.
She has chosen 'other'.
But why did she choose "other"? Was there something that happened in her involvement in Christian music that caused her to think otherwise about continuing?

Maybe her choice had to do with a lot more than just "her involvement in Christian music".

I don't listen to this kind of pop music (or any pop music for that matter), but the thought occurred to me that maybe she is being purposely "scandalous" in order to gain attention and that she doesn't really live the lyrics to her songs? Just a thought.

BTW, wasn't there a song about the same topic done some years ago by another female singer?

You know, it is amazing when these young artists who say they are a christian but turn the other cheek and do things which is a determent to their faith. I was watching the teen choice awards on last night and was looking at Miley Cyrus and she was giving praises to Jesus Christ--but I wonder which Christ she is prasing to? With those racy photos (and there saying now there are more) she still is not a good representive of the Christian faith, even a lot of girls look up to her. And I heard Perry's song too and that it may be more to come too with same sex marriages and other things related to it is being the norm now.

And that is not good at all.

I have to defend Miley Cyrus a bit. The photos in Vanity Fair may have not been a good choice for a teenage role model to pre teen / young teen girls who proclaims Christ in her life they certainly weren't tawdry by the world's standards. As far as future photos, while I don't try to follow Miley from what I've heard and the photos I've seen they were taken on her personal cell phone just to have fun. They were never intended for public consumption. Someone in her inner circle betrayed her trust and posted them in public. There is also the possibility that they were photoshopped and that it really isn't her body in the photos. A third possibility is a look alike. These aren't my excuses, I've read these from other people and am just repeating it here.

Hopefully she avoids the pratfalls that have affected Britney & Lindsay.

Well this song said she kissed a girl and liked it, not that she is involved in a lesbian relationship. So I think its likely that she has kissed a girl, if only because of the song (Whoopi kissed her the other day on The View). So in as far as the lyrics actually go, yeah she probably does "live the lyrics". But whether the girl she kissed was wearing cherry chapstick and whether she liked it or not the jury is still out.

Experimentation is just awful and with the confusion that teens are facing already in their puberty, this is just another millstone to stumble God's little ones. Much prayer, folks!

I personally find the song retarded and regard it as one of those "controversial" songs that were made primarily for what we are demonstrating right now; to be discussed.

Songs are made of expression, and not necessarily of experience. Just because she's singing about it doesn't mean she's done it or even advocates it. It's a song.

It is however a reflection of our generation and the times we live in. I am constantly meeting girls who are straight as can be but say, "Oh yeah...I went to college" *wink*wink* that is the age group for experimentation and a lot of times the sky is the limit.

So take it as it is...a silly song that is getting it's few minutes of fame. It'll pass just like all the others.

I hope Miley does as well, but remember, Jesus did say that it was easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to go to Heaven. and Miley would have much to give up. (and I don't mean money, I mean fame)...

What's sad now is someone found a clip of Miss Hudson "singing" this $25,000/25 point ditty on an MTV awards show for men recently.

And anyone who knows me should understand my problem with MTV, especially since an old friendship was KO'd by MTV.

I had never heard of Perry, either, until she sang on that dancing show a few weeks ago. I had to rewind it and play it back again to make sure I was hearing what I thought I was hearing. I just read an article on the internet that said she had previously released another song about being gay. Something about her BF being too effeminate...sounds like she has an obsession with this topic. I think it's just a flash-in-the-pan myself. In today's jaded culture nothing shocks us anymore so I think Perry is just trying to break through the noise and get attention.

As to her Christian background, that's just weird. However, I think she crossed over for the obvious reason: money. Somebody here mentioned that her Christian label folded and she was out of a job. Well, she saw where the greener pastures lay and has gone to graze there. Sad, but not surprising.

It is an infectious tune.

And, it is cute when my SON sings it with a twinkle in his eye. In fact, I learned it from him and then discovered it was performed by a girl.

But, it isn't getting played at our house...(he learned it at camp)
