MrFribbles -> RE: Do not hate the sinner, only hate sin. Why and how? (7/5/2008 1:01:57 AM)

We have Christ's example. When confronted with sinners, His attitude was one of love, not hate. He did not ignore a person's sin, but He was willing to reach out to them in love and compassion before expecting them to change. The woman at the well is an obvious example, so is the woman in Luke 7:36-50. As for "how," I would say we ought to follow Christ's example. We should not ignore the sin around us, but we also should not expect a person to change their sinful ways until after they put their faith in Him. God does not call holy people, but He does make those He calls holy. Or, to paraphrase Christ, it is the sick who need a doctor, not the healthy.
