As long as the thread is active and hasn't reached it's 100-page limit, it can run forever.

According to one of the mods there is no official page limit on any thread. I wrote to one and asked the other day because I have seen threads with several hundred pages in many of the forums but ours are usually closed out at 100. I was told that they usually close out social threads, such as this one, at 100 but that there is no official rule on that. They can run on as long as we want them to.

Cool, Duane!

Hey Lynn! Thanks for the hug.

Duane, in a nutshell...our income is more than likely going to be cut in the fall. When I found that out I got a bit panicky and went out and got a job. I thought it would be a pretty good thing to work evening shift so that hubby could take over at home with GB when he got home from work and then I'd head out to my job. I worked a week and a half and was so miserable. Couldn't be away from GB every night after being a stay at home mom for two and a half years...just couldn't cope with that at all.

I called this morning and resigned. Told them I'd work out a notice if they wanted and, like I thought, they didn't think it would be necessary since I'm not working on my own yet anyway.

So, I'm blissfully unemployed.

There's a chance I can get a job working day shift where I worked for 8 years (the job I quit to stay home with GB). That will be available in September which is when we'd need the extra income anyway.

Yer not nosey.

I'll ditto Lynn (and I don't do this often, as Sony would tell you...)

{{{Christi and family}}}

I really hope everything works out well for you.

Daniel...thank you!

WOW a {{{}}}} on a thread from Daniel. From a non-demonstrative person (he himself had said so) that is really neat and I am so proud of him...
Bet it felt about as good for him to send it as for Christi to receive it, or maybe even better !!

I was tickled to see that. Not all that surprised though because of how important family values are to Daniel. We've talked enough in here that he knows my heart is with my family and I know he's been in my corner about this whole job thing. I just had to learn the hard way I suppose.

That's interesting, Jeff.

I was under the impression that while not part of the original "rules", it was a new rule created a couple of years ago to help the system from overloading itself.

Hey SharMar!

Yes, we're enjoying each other very much today. We went to a park here in town that has a water fountain park in it (do you know what those are?) and got soaked and just had a blast!

She's wore out and sleeping right now.

All I know is what one of the mods told me when I wrote and asked the other day. I was curious as to why everything in the SG folder was closed at 100 while several other forums were continuing well over 300 in some cases.

. . . And yep; I know what a water fountain park is . . . at least I think so.
I've never been to one though.

Just wondered because last Summer was the first time we had ever been to one. They are very new to us.

Yes there is. Whoever told you that may have misspoken or misunderstood your question. Fritz has said no chat threads are to go past 100 pages.

All chat threads are closed out either at 100 pages or monthly (whichever is first) unless a mod has missed seeing it. PFY threads do not have this restriction.

It's been about a month or more since I looked through them but I believe that Current Events was one of them.

Those are not chat threads. The rule is for chat type threads.

Just out of curiousity, is that posted somewhere? Also, how is the determination made as to what is and what is not a chat thread? Would the prayer request thread and the threads on the various groups and artists in this folder be considered chat threads? I would hate to see all of the posts on the Legacy Five thread and the Greater Vision thread disappear when they reach 100 pages.

I'm not trying to argue. I'm just curious as to how those decisions are made and why. I've always been way too inquisitive!
