Thanks, Sharon-Marie! Hmmm...I wonder if the "bad pee-pee" spray I got for Winston would do the same as the Spray n Wash stick? I keep buying it because it is useful for other things. I'll try a squirt, wash it in cold water, then let Brother Sun take a turn with it. (And the next time I have a hankering for Indian food, I'll wear a shirt I don't care about ) I understand about the spilling--boy do I understand. When Mother was alive, when I would spill something on a blouse, I would call her up and say "where is yours?" because both of us did it at the same time, no matter how far away we were Mine must be inherited quote:

ORIGINAL: Ps103 But, speaking of spices: last night I thought the bag of tumeric was closed, but I was mistaken, and it got all over my blouse. Any tips on how to get it out? Kate, HERE is a Results Page from a Google search I just did. The two I like the best suggest letting the sun fade it. One says to wash the garment in cold water and then let it sun-dry, and then to wash the now pink-stained garment again and the stain will remove. One says to rub lemon on the stain and then let sun-dry. I've had mustard stains before (and mustard often contains turmeric). I've gotten the out with Spray-n-Wash Stain Stick (with Resolve Power) (scroll down 3 items). It's a "treat now, wash later" product. I discovered it a couple of years ago, and have used it for everything since then. Any stain comes out after using that stuff. At least, that's been the case with me . . . and as you may well know, I'm not the most, uhm, physically graceful of people.

Stain Sticks are life savers! I'd be buying new t-shirts every week if it weren't for them.

It's out! I soaked it in cold water first, which didn't do squat. Then I sprayed it with the peroxide spray, and I thought it was better, but after I put it in the sun for a while, it was still there. So I sprayed it again, waited a few minutes and sprayed it again, then washed it, and put it in the afternoon sun. I could still see it when I put it in the sun, but now I can't. Well, just barely, and the blouse is green, so it isn't noticeable unless you know exactly where it was.

Foods themselves usually have flavor - a nice steak or tri-tip shouldn't need much. Sometimes we dump too much butter and spice to actually taste the food. I like to start with a minimum and then adjust up until it fits our preferences. We also have a toddler, so I keep things pretty low but usually have extra spices on the table for those who like more. At a nice Italian restraunt, they put fresh basil on top of their lasagsna and it was perfectly wonderful! Plus, people could add more or take some off. I would love to start using fresh herbs which would enable more variety to accomodate different tastes.

Very rarely do I find something that has too much spice. The only exceptions I can think of are on popcorn and on eggs. We've overspiced our popcorn before, and it's just gross. I also don't like it when my husband cooks eggs in the mornings and adds lots of garlic powder when I'm eating a bowl of cereal. I don't like the smell of garlic mixed with cereal.

I make a great roast chicken that is done by sitting the chicken on sprigs of thyme, rosemary, sage and 40-odd cloves of unpeeled garlic. After cooking the fat is drained off and the garlic and herbs passed through a sieve to get rid of the bits and then returned to the pan with stock and made into gravy. Rumour has it that the French use the garlic (and some fat) to make garlic bread.
