You think that much of Poison's music is bad?

All of it's bad.

Some of it is unwholesome.

The only really offensive song would probably be Talk Dirty to Me. What about songs like Stand? Something To Believe In (Yes, he bashes televangelists, but how many of them do you really trust?)?

"I Want Action" (doesn't take much imagination there)

maybe "Unskinny Bop"

I can't think of any others at the moment but if you were an 80s glam metal band some sexual stuff was expected.

They did get more serious later on as did some of their fellow glam metal bands.

Maybe they could eliminate a couple of songs and rework the lyrics on a few others and have a reasonable "Poison show"but IMHO if you're going to do a Poison show then it should be done in earnest, not edited for holiness. If you want to do a Christian show (or a "clean" show for Christian audiences) then change the name. Its only fair to the fans.

The only thing I know that is bad about Poison is the fact that they couldn't write a decent sounding song even if they really tried. The worst heavy metal cliches ever can be found in that band.

I saw them one time and it was fun. They have good showmanship on stage even if their music lacks value other than good time r n r. But then the same can also be said of KISS and Ozzy in his later years (most of his post Diary days). Just remember "Every Rose Has Its Thorn". Or in this case vise versa.

when someone repents of their sins, they do a 180, and go the other direction. to play the same songs, and/or music isn't christian at all. satan has deluded them into believing they are saved. all lyrics then, should honor and praise GOD !!!

Yep. We all become perfect little angels and "sin no more" when we accept Christ! We never become angry with our brothers and exhibit the highest degree of self-control.

Why don't you give the man a chance and see where this takes him? Can't we rejoice that he has accepted Christ into his life? The seed is planted and it is between God and him were his Christian walk takes him. It my tke him in a direction no one will understand because God's ways are not ours.

Those 2 songs are probably my favorite Poison songs...great music, outstanding orchestration/arrangement, the gospel sounding choir in Stand...Oh yeah...

I think it's great that CC has found Christ, maybe he can straighten Rikki, Bret and whatshisname out too...
(Rock of Love is really pathetic)

Looked at the lyrics on "Open Up And Say Ahh!" and found four songs for his new show. "Back to the Rocking Horse", "Fallen Angel", "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and "Bad to be Good". They don't openly praise Christ as some people would have it , but they deal with issues showing the negative side of life in the fast lane and not doing the right thing in relationships. I could've used these songs in my youth group meetings in times past to put forth a message about doing the right thing.

My lament is that of Paul in this regard as in Romans 7:15-19 on how I wish to do good but instead do the evil I do not intend. So if the saints of the Church (who had Jesus physically appear to them) struggled with that I guess I, and CC, are not alone!

Aside from that, I think C. C. needs to wake up and smell the coffee brewing. If he were to get rid of the great hits that Poison sang back in the 80's and early 90's he'd have a riot on his hands at every concert. I appreciate his zeal, but honestly....
When Mark Farner became a christian and started in on the CCM circuit, a lot of Grand Funk Railroad fans screamed for the early GFR hits. The rest of the former GFR filed suit against him to keep him from playing any of that stuff.

I don't think any of that happened with Kerry Livgren of Kansas. It all depends on the band and managers.

He will develop a new fan base. Everyone I know of who left the secular music scene has, going all the way back to Glenn Schwartz, former lead guitarist for Pacific Gas and Electric, and early California Acid band.

I see your point. I guess its hypocritical to say it when I am a Motley Crue fan. lol What did you think of Ozzy's Ozzmosis album? That remains a fave of mine.

I know one thing, when Alice Cooper became born again it never really changed the direction of his music. It was always constant and the shows portraying the character Alice Cooper as a villian (who combines all the ugly sides of human nature) who always gets executed in the end. I just don't think that an artist who is Christian really needs to write praise music to show it. They all write music to show different things, be it harsh reality, events that they have experienced in their lives, etc.
