Please join me in prayer for Pastor Greg Laurie and family - (Harvest Christian Fellowship - www.harvest.org) - and his family. His oldest son was killed today in a car accident.

This is the second tradegy in a month that befelled the body of Christ this week with the accident which befelled gospel singer Timothy Wright which killed his wife.

Even though I do not know them, Greg and Cathe are like family because they are affilated with Calvary Chapel. I just finished his autobiography, "Lost Boy". Greg is crazy about his grandchild, Stella and Christopher's wife is due another child.

Then too, Greg is doing a crusade here in So Cal next month which I am going to be a counselor.

I'm praying for Greg, Cathe, Jonathan and entire Harvest church family because they have a lot to deal with.

And everyone hopefully will read this will do the same because Greg is well loved in the body.

Father, I pray for Greg and Cathe, Jonathan, Brittney and Little Stella and I pray that you strengnen them during this time of loss. I pray that they will make it through this storm and this test, as Marvin Sapp would say in his song, "Never Would Have Made It." I pray that those who are around him, the leadership at Harvest Christian Fellowship put their arms tight around them. I pray that his "band of brothers" , the Calvary Chapel pastors also stand behind him and give him comfort in this time of transition. We do not call it a loss, but a graduation and I know in confidence, Christopher is going to the city that his beloved father has been preaching about for years, but he's joining his grandfather, Oscar now and others who he called and is wating to join them.

I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I GOT MY EMAIL FROM THEM TODAY THAT HE HAD DIED.

FATHER KEEP YOUR LOVING ARMS AROUND THIS FAMILY, COMFORT THEM. THEY WILL REALLY NEED YOUR HELP FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. IN JESUS NAME WE PRAY. AMEN

You need to fix the link. The ) at the end messes it up.

Praying for them. A pastor from my childhood lost one of his daughters a few weeks ago when she died in her sleep after taking some medicine the doctor gave her for back pain. I know of several pastors who have lost children recently.

The link has been fixed. There, you can post condolences. This has been on our local televison station which also said that the services will be sometime next week.

Praying specifically for the young family of Christopher---his wife, Brittany; and daughter, Stella.
Hold them close in this time of sadness and loss.
I also pray for the father, Pastor Greg. Help him to be able to be ministered to by his heavenly Father, and give him Peace,

I also pray father that you surround people around them for support right now because the enemy wants to trash someone through the news media because of past mistakes. I pray that the church get stronger through this and that Greg's family will endure the attacks of the enemy.

Heavenly Father
We know You empathise with this family because we glimpsed You in Your Word as You wept with the family and friends of Lazarus when You observed their pain and sadness in their loss.
We praise You that when we have a relationship with You - then whether we live or die, we belong to You and nothing can separate us from Your love - neither life nor death nor principalities nor powers - absolutely nothing!
We thank and praise You Father that Our Saviour Jesus Christ has abolished death and we can say with assurance:
“O death where is your sting? O grave where is your victory? Death is swallowed up in victory.” Hallelujah.
Comfort this bereaved family Heavenly Father and may they be strengthened in knowing that their loved one has a better and enduring substance - It does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that we shall be like Him: for we shall see Him as He is; Now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face.
May this family be comforted in knowing that their loved one will behold the Lord’s face in righteousness and shall be satisfied, when he awakes with the Lord’s likeness. So shall their loved one ever be with the LORD - wherefore, may they be comforted with these words.

My heart breaks for this entire family. I went to the website and he has such a beautiful
family. My condolences are with the family.

Lord, please hold this family close to you right now. Please protect Christopher's wife and
babies Lord, since they will not have their father with them, keep them close to you Lord.
Give this family strength, peace, wisdom, courage, and continued faith and trust in you Lord.
I pray that this family continue to lean on you and look to you for guidance, and know without
a doubt that you will ease their pain, that they will praise you and thank you Lord to know that
they will grow even closer to you from this tragedy...

My deepest sympathies....I am praying for this family..

Satan did not get the victory on this one....

Greg was in the pulpit today sharing what had happened the last few days. He shared the fact that Christopher was not a perfect child, but the last few years of his life he did serve the Lord with great fervor. He is responsible for all the designs of this year's crusade. And guess what? Greg was really rejocing the fact that he is heaven and wishing he would trade places with him. Then too, he gave us Christians, those who attend Harvest and freinds of the ministry their marching orders and that is we as Christians ought to work more harder to get the gospel out because we never know when God will call us home. And yes, ladies and gentleman, there will be a crusade August 15-17 and more than ever, if you are in the So Cal area, bring people out and if you are not in So Cal, there is an opportunity to share on the internet.

And by the way, he said that the best place for people to be is in "Church", the body of believers.


Keep praying for the family, because they are being strengned by everyone's encouragement and support.

Thank you, Gayle. I'm watching Harvest's webcast right now. I'm on the east coast, it's the 11:45 service (it's about 3:00 here right now).

Jeff Lesseigne gave a brief talk about the situation at the beginning (even before the worship band), so Greg probably won't talk at this service. Which service do you go to?

The Laurie family was at the first service, that is why they were not at the third service. I go to Calvary Chapel Downey, but Harvest is an afffliate of ours.

Lord, please reach out and comfort the family of Pastor Laurie. I seem to be the only person who doesn't know who he is, but I do know that the loss of a child is painful and hard to understand. God, please be with the pastor and his family as they deal with this event in their lives. Give them solice and comfort and peace, and please, though this is a terrible thing to have happen, find a way to let it be for the better for them. Lord, give them the knowledge that they can hold on to one another as a family, as well as onto you as their great protector and Eternal Father in their sorrows. Grant them the knowledge that their child is now with you in your holy kingdom, and we ask that you welcome him there with open arms. Gracious and merciful God, none of us are worthy of the graces you bestow upon us, but the sacarafice of your son shows us that you still care for us more than we will ever comprehend. God, from what I read on here, this pastor was a man of Your word who put his faith in you. It seems he has done much for people in the past. Please, don't let his faith be shattered by this event, but rather strengthened to show your glory. We ask this in the name of the one true son of God, our Risen Lord, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
