I picked "of course" for the same reason that I decided I would wear a headcovering if my husband came under that conviction. I look at submission to those over me as submission to my Lord. If the US were to come to this, than I pray I will continue to bless and pray for those in leadership, even if they impose their culture on me and view me as their enemy. Besides, you could pray right smack in front of the authorities and they wouldn't have a clue.
Blessings,
Melanie

BTW Abiyah ~ I love your postings. They are always humble and full of wisdom. You are teaching me a lot. Thank you.

I would do it, becuase as Melanie pointed out, submission to authority is commanded in the NT. Would I fight within my legal means to overturn the law? Definitely!

I voted of course.

It's not the clothing that identifies you as who you are.

I said I probably wouldn't, but when you change the question to school uniforms etc I already live in a country where that occurs. And those who wear headcoverings can buy them to match their school uniforms. LOL

J and X even have restrictions on hair at their school. J's can't be over his ears or collar, X's must be worn up/back if it's over her collar. Hair dyes are not allowed and they aren't allowed nail polish or make up while at school.

My workplace has a closed toe policy even though I work in an office.

I don't have a problem with those things so I guess my issue with a burka would be more that in my mind it has religious symbolism and would equate to the same thing, for me, as if I were forced to wear any other symbol which denied my saviour and God.

That is where I draw the line on restrictions relating to personal attire.

Kylie
