Does he do that scratching thing mine did? Maybe he is still to small but mine would reach their arms around like a hug and then clench their little fingers and every once in a while, it would really tickle.

And sometimes it reminded me to do their nails...

HE MADE IT TO 4 POUNDS!?!?!?!!!???!!!

I don't have facebook but that is just AWESOME, Erin! I wonder what he is? 4 pounds, 3 ounces -- if he's not there already, it's right around the corner.

Wow, he has gained OVER ONE POUND. This is just such incredible news. Isaac, you are my hero and I am going to call you a BIG BOY now!

Erin, you're my hero, too. Your perseverance is, well, amazing. You are AMAZING!! Good job to you and your husband, too, since he is right in on this, too!

Aww, I have little tears of joy. This is just so wonderful!

Love,
Jeanie

Sorry ladies, I havent been on, we are in the town where the hospital is this weekend. Yes, last night's weigh in was 4lb 1.4oz.

He is doing good, still having heart rate drops, but learning tobring his heartrate back up on his own.

We tried nursing twice a day but it was more than he could handle. He WANTED to but just couldnt keep his heart beating and nurse. So we just cuddled while he got fed through the tube.

No changes right now really, just growing.

Welll there is ONE thing he wont try....a bottle! He'll HAVE to take a bottle to go home, but he refuses!!

4lb 1.9oz today!

He's gaining slower because he's having to work harder (nursing).

Will they require him to take a bottle if he nurses well?

Yes. He's required to be able to take a bottle.

They only offer him a bottle when I am not there. Which for that I am thankful, that they let us nurse. We may see if he will take a bottle from Klay. He's also picky about who he'll take his passy from. He takes it fine and wants it in fact, but only if Klay and I give it to him.

I guess he needs to know to drink from a bottle since you are going to be going back to work and someone will need to feed him while you are working. So I hope he learns that right away!

Come on Isaac! You can do it!

All babies are required to take a bottle before they go home. Even if mama will nurse. I think its so they can insure that the baby can get fed. I dont know. Its funny that he wont take a bottle, but frustrating too. But he's still a little tyke. I'm SOO ready for him to come home.

That does make sense actually. Like say mama got sick and couldn't breast feed easily or totally dried up for some reason then she or her husband would need to use the bottle.

It is funny that he likes breast best, but I see how that could be frustrating too. Maybe he will be an all organic baby/kid/adult and wants to start now .

He is really an independent little boy. you wouldnt think that of a 6 week old baby but sure enough. He's a stinker. But I think we'll keep him!

Erin- so glad he is doing well! Hopefully Klay will have the magic touch- are there different bottles they can try or do they just do the standard one?

I'm not sure. I plan to ask next time we are talking about it. They have only offered it to him twice so they arent too concerned yet. He's not 34 weeks yet, that seems to be their "magic number" on stuff.
