"If your God allows rapist and murderers to walk in your heaven, then I don't want to be there." He asks how can God let these cruel people be in heaven just because they said sorry.
That's the cool thing... If a person accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior, it's a lot more than simply saying sorry. It's a rebirth. The bible says that when we are born again, we are made new. So rapists and murderers won't be in heaven. Anyone that gets into heaven is a born again child of the King of Kings.

My uncle is in full time ministry and knows Son of Sam and visits him regularly. HE will spend the rest of his life in prison I believe but he knows and loves God now and is a brother in Christ.
I wonder. He claimed to be a believer BEFORE all that happened.

I knew (somewhat) both Coral Eugene Watts and Donald Miller, both serial killers. Watts claimed at one point after he was caught to have killed 110 women from Canada to Texas (where he was arrested) and Miller was convicted on 6 counts but probably killed about 10 more, starting with his fiancee.

Miller attended the church my wife attended growing up - an Assembly of God in Lansing MI. He and I had a few theological discussions/arguments during my college years, during the time that all those women were periodically disappearing off the streets of Lansing.

Later, a friend who had been incarcerated at the same state pen that Miller was in said he had met him a few times and on the inside claimed to be a Jesus freak. No one took him, his faith or his constant preaching seriously.

I believe that now he would say he wasn't a believer then and that this is a change in him since being in prison.

It's certainly an interesting topic... and one which helped me reject Christian theology. I'm none too keen on a faith whereby the most dreadful tyrant can do what he likes, confess and accept Jesus, and enjoy forever in heaven; while those who are simply suspicious of believing everything in a millennia-old book get to languish in hell.

Actually, this is interesting because it provokes in me an opposite reaction - if there are a particular set of sins which Christ's atonement are incapable of satisfying, then how can we say it can satisfy any? In short, you would have God grade on a bell curve rather then by the simple decision of a person to accept a free gift.
