Bluethread -> Torah Lifestyle (8/2/2008 3:38:05 PM)
|
I would like to start by saying this is not a thread for discussing whether or not one should live a Torah lifestyle. My purpose in starting this thread is to investgate the practicality of living a lifestyle based on Torah today. Some have said it's impossible. Let's find out. Who this thread is for is the person who has decided, for whatever reason, that they wish to live a Torah lifestyle. If at any point someone believes that what someone proposes is not the proper interpretation of Ha Torah, then that person can simply say so, give a short explanation and then let those who hold that interpretation continue to discuss how one would live according to that interpretation. If it makes it any easier for some, this could be viewed as one would view a cajun cooking thread, though I believe cajun cooking is clearly not according to Torah. Also this is not limited to cooking, it involves the practicality of all things Torah. Since it is Shabbat, let's start with that. How does one do that? When does it start? How does one eat, if one does not cook on Shabbat? How does one keep Shabbat in a society the increasingly does business 7 days a week?
