Kuku - thanks for the good words - especially with your work in the field! After this thread was started, I actually sent an email to the single lady I support in Macedonia - telling her of the plans/hopes for short term trips in the coming years. She responded with her thanks and prayers.

ORIGINAL: John_O Most ministry I receive is from my reading and from my local church I agree... same here. My church has many wonderful ministries. I'm also ministered to by many radio preachers including Allestair Begg, Charles Stanley, and others. Also, I'm blessed to be ministered to by a great group of leaders in the Christian Counseling ministry. People like Tim Clinton, Ron Hawkins, Archibald Hart, and others, and writers such as Dan Allender, Henry Cloud, and others. And of course, my professors and fellow students have been a blessing in their ministry.

I love it!!! So many good ministries. I'm glad to hear that local churches are well represented too :) I must say, I am so surprised that Allastair Begg is so popular. I like him a lot, but had no idea that his ministry was making such an impact. I think it is wonderful - he is a solid preacher.

I like those ministries too humbleinspirit. I especially love June Hunt's ministry - including Hope in the Night. I used to listen to it a lot.

For all of you who who are partial to Calvary Chapel - how about Lloyd Pulley, Bobby Hargraves and Ken Graves. I go to Ocean Grove (NJ)whenever Lloyd Pulley is there preaching.

And there's MY CC Pastor - Danny Hodges, of CC St Pete. I was in St. Pete (I'm assuming you mean St. Pete, Florida) today. I left for Orlando around 3:30 and didn't make it there until 3 hours later. The traffic on the bridge. Then on 275. Then by Lakeland. Then by Kissimee. Aye yi yi!!! But it was GORGEOUS out there today. But back to the thread, I love it when local ministries are vibrant have good teaching. I have a problem now, in that there is a church that has a pastor that I really like (his teaching is EXCELLENT) and the people are quite warm and friendly. But, I think the model of the church is one where you go, you get taught, but it doesn't teach you how to really live your giftings if that makes sense. But I just attended a small group that is affiliated with another church - and what they are teaching their members is phenomenal. It is all about discipling people so that they will one day be leaders, teacher, or whatever gift they have. It is so solid. But the preaching seems a little off kilter somehow. It is a difficult dilemna.

Sorry about the travel issues - wish I knew you were in the area - I would have warned you when NOT to be on the bridge and through Tampa/Lakeland, etc. LOLOL Oh, and yeah, I do know what you're talking about with those types of churches - btdt - too many times to count! Go where you're being fed - that's what is most important!

What are your favorite national/international ministries? In Touch Ministries with Charles Stanley is the only one I support on a national level, but he's not geared towards singles he's just an incredibly gifted Minister and I'm blessed every time I listen to him.

Oh, I don't think any of these are necessarily specifically geared toward Singles.....
