Mine thought I was a smart-alleck jerk and tried to get me fired from the hospital we both worked at. So I got the ultimate revenge... I married her.

My dh and I met over the phone. We were 1,500 miles apart. When we finally met, it was unreal! Back then, his voice made me all warm and fuzzy. Know what? It still does!

I love telling our story :) Hubby and I met in an online divorce chat room! I was divorced, he was waiting for final paperwork. We started talking and kidding around with each other, and little by little found out that we had a TON in common and wanted to know each other better. This was early summer. We started talking one on one by pc and phone in September. By end of October we realized that each other was the "perfect" one that God wanted to be together. We both (before we met) asked God to send the right one. He did - by computer since I was in Maryland, hubby in Minnesota. We fell in love and every day talked to each other. Phone company loved us for 18 months. We met in person in December. Then would take turns seeing each other every 2-3 months. I got a transfer with work and moved here to MN the following December...we were married in February (14th) and just celebrated 6 years together.........and still on our honeymoon. We learned the importance of communication and trust, and being faithful. Yes it was hard, but we did it with God's help. He forced us to know each other without the physical contact that can get you in trouble, and blessed us with more then we could imagine after we were married.

We were the last two standing at a bar brawl, so we got married. Just kidding. We met on the phone. I was looking for a ticket to our church's singles group's activity, and his roommate was selling them. So this strange guy answers the phone, and no, his roommate was out. So I asked, who are you (because generally I knew everybody. Or just about), and it turned out we had tons in common. Both teachers (same subject), both caligraphers, both worked on cars. He waited a week and called me back and asked me out (this was before I knew about courting). I told him I had another 5 weeks of student teaching and was really busy but would go out with him afterwards if he wanted to (I figured if he was a jerk he wouldn't wait). He said fine. So five weeks later he called me up and invited me to go on a picnic, and he packed the lunch. It was really good, and we had a blast talking while munching salmon mousse (what was that???...ummmm, tasty) and frozen grapes. The rest is history, and our kid is now in a Christian college and doing well! Praise the Lord!

In High School, one of the girls from his youth group was my cabin mate at a youth camp. She introduced me to him, just for the sake of introduction. After that, we kept on meeting each other at other church related camps. We ended up leading an activity together at another camp and we got to be really good friends. He lived in almost 3,000 miles away from me (him in Hawaii, me in So. Calif.), but we ended up dating for 4 years, and got married on our 5th year. It will be 7 years of marriage for us this coming September 1st.

We met at a football game in High School, I was scared to death because at that first meeting I knew he was the one. So of course I tried to run away but he wouldn't let me

I was there with a friend, he was there with a friend. He asked me to dance, I did, and we have been together ever since. That is similar to m'love and I, except it was a contra dance and we were both asked there by the same friend. He was stunned to find out that we were up until the wee hours of the morning still chatting in the parking lot after the dance. We are both morning people and he had a long drive to get home. Needless to say, he was invited to the wedding.

Our church breaks into small circles of two or three and prays together. He prayed for me, I prayed for him and he asked me out to dinner. Short and sweet!

This one time at band camp... Yup we actually met on the first day of marching band in high school. We went through 3 years of high school aware of each other but we weren't friends really just acquaintances. After high school I headed off to college and he headed to California. I was home for Spring break and he was home because his dad was having surgery. We both had younger brothers in the high school and they were having a concert so we both went. He waved to me and we started talking. He asked me out to lunch and from there we just sort of drifted into a relationship.

We met in college when we had a class together. I remember the first day I saw him that I was smitten. That will be 28 years ago next January.

Dh and I met at church, but were more of acquaintances for about 3 years. During that time he was interested in me off and on. We finally started dating when we were nearly 26 and were married 8 months later. That was just over 13 years ago.

When I met DH, he was a freshman in college, but I was a mere freshman in H.S. We attended the same church and the H.S and College groups did a lot together. I didn't like him much. He called out of the blue two years later at the behest of HIS MOTHER and asked me to the county fair-- I had to decline because I was going out of town with my family. He thought I was blowing him off. We went out when I got home-- he was my first real date at age 16 (but not my first kiss-- gasp!). BTW-- he broke up with me after 8 months of dating because he was getting ribbed for dating a high school girl. Upon graduation, he tried to woo me back, but I'd have none of it and made him twist from June to October when he finally wore me down. Married two years later, and coming up on 19th anniversary!
