I don't know about the opposite sex name, but my mother once told me that my dad wanted to name me after some great aunt or something....Minerva. Thank you Jesus, my mom fought that and named me Stacey. I like that much better...lol.

I think instead of Joanne, I would have been a Joseph - since that is what they named my brother.
My Mom always like Jeannine and was going to name my brother that.

If I had been a male, I would have been named Dale after my Granddad.
My mom said that the other girl name her grandparents were trying to talk her into because it was an old family name and I was the first great-grandchild, was Beulah.

I have no idea. Since all of us were given names related to some book my mom was reading at the time, I suppose that I could have been named "Grandfather"

I would have been Eddie Jr. However, there was even controversy over my name as a girl. My mom wanted Snow (which is crazy because I am black) and my last name is Wright. Yes that's right, I would have been Snow Wright. How horrible is that.

I'm not sure what the final pick was for a boy name for me, but I know Bilbo was high on the list. I'm so glad I'm a girl!

Had I been a boy, my name would have been Abraham. Kind of funny thought to me because I went to Lincoln High School. I came out a girl and my dad named me Robin. Don't know if there is a story behind it or not. There aren't many Robin's around anymore.

If I'd been a boy, I'd have been Charles Benjamin. But, as a girl (born 1964), I'm named after a heroine in a book my mom read. If my younger brother (Charles Benjamin) had also been a girl, he would have been Bethany Nicole.

I would've been Bill. I am the youngest of 6 children. My brothers were hoping for a boy so that they would no longer be outnumbered.

My parents were going to name me Angela, but when they saw me they knew Nicole suited me more. I am glad because I don't think the name Angela would suit me.

My birthmom picked out my name, Roberta Lynn. If I had been a boy, I'd have been Robert Lynn.
After I was adopted, my parents kept my first and middle names the same. My mom told me once that if I were a boy, they would've named me Robert William (because that is the middle names of my grandfathers.) If I had been a girl, I'd have been Carolyn Jean (a mix of my parents names) or Heather Lynn.
