Forgive me if my response was unChristlike. Of course. Looking back, mine was rather uncouth as well. You likewise have my apologies. quote:
I have a healthy fear (respect) of God's laws and His names, and it makes me very uncomfortable to play around the edges of anything akin to blasphemy. Some things are fun to argue and debate, but to me this is one of those areas that should be a no-brainer for Christians. I understand. I just view blasphemy differently than most people. To me, poking innocent fun at a name isn't a big deal. I have much less of a problem with someone using a play on words than on someone making an actual attack on God's character - which I don't see this company doing. But, of course, other people see things differently, and God lays personal convictions on our hearts for a reason.

I seriously doubt that I'd be going to Hell if I bought it, but in retrospect, maybe I shouldn't buy that sweater. quote:
God lays personal convictions on our hearts for a reason. I agree with you, MrFribbles, I really do. Obviously Gsus Sindustries doesn't have any partake in the realm of faith, so they theoretically wouldn't feel any conviction if they were cheapening the identity of Christ or not. It's hard to take a company like that seriously. But, their cheapening of the identity of Christ isn't really a deterrent factor for me. Yeah, I suppose I could blow $77.79 on a GSUS Sweater, probably made in some sweatshop in India. Yeah, I bet I'd get a real kick out of the extremely impressive color coordination. Then I'd glare at myself in the mirror for hours upon hours. In the scheme of things, does that really matter? Nice sweaters will come, nice sweaters will go. By the time I'm 30, that sweater will be ragged and old, another obsolete textile. However, God and His Word are undying and unchanging. A sweater will only bring me temporal happiness through vanity, whereas the Lord shall provide us with unchanging bliss through faith. What is more important, living for the Lord, or spending excessive money on a sweater? I think all of us know the answer to that....
