I was at dinner the other night with a buddy who owns an Indian. As we left the restaurant there were three Harley's outside. I said I might be interested in owning one but for two major reasons -
1) The pavement is still going by mere feet from your head.
2) There are massive hunks of iron on four wheels just inches from your body.

He agreed that any sort of bike is only good for rides around the neighborhood or perhaps for riding in the countryside, but facing everyday traffic is just downright dangerous.

Maybe I'll get a convertible... That way I stay inside the "box" and keep my skull intact.

I'd love to get this FORD that gets 65 mpg ... but it isn't available in the US.

Ford's Fiesta ECOnetic gets an astonishing 65 mpg, but the carmaker can't afford to sell it in the U.S

just wait....Ford is in the process of introducing some "overseas" models to the U.S. very soon.....it's the fastest way they can get some small cars added to their lineup....at a minimal cost to the company.....

From a Business week article:
There is one thing Farley can't change: the vehicles Ford is rolling out now. Yes, the company plans to bring six models to the U.S. from Europe, including the Ford Fiesta, a fuel-efficient subcompact.

You may just have to peddle a little. Don't worry though it's good for the heart.

You know what they say? When the going gets tough, the tough get going (peddling).

Well, I don't know what they say there.

But I do know what they say here. They say that heat stroke is a very real and deadly possibility.

They also say there's a fool born every minute.

Only a fool would try peddling 20 miles a day in the heat and humidity of southeast Texas afternoons, risking death by heat stroke.

Oh come on now...how many pro teams you got out there in TX playing in the heat and humidity as well as those poor kids that play in the high school games every Friday? Show a little backbone.

Any European car that gets good gas mileage is not going to get near the same mileage in the US due to our numerous safety and emissions regulations. The EPA will not let you import any car that does not meet them.
