Here in Northern Ohio what is left of Hurricane Ike is passing over us now on Sunday evening. Friday our gas prices were around $3.49 to $3.57 per gallon. Now Sunday night the magic number in our area is mostly $3.99 to $4.19 a gallon. What is the price like in your area?

Not yet, but I'll see what the one station I normally buy gas on the way to work is running in the morning. Our local station raised it some but not much.
I'm sorry, but raising the price to $4 and $5 is just plain wrong and its price gouging no matter what they say! Be nice if everyone would be able to boycott work for a week in protest!

Yes...it's definitely made an impact here in Norhtern Michigan. Earlier in the week we started at around $3.82. Then Friday night it went up to $3.99. I was planning on getting gas in a few days but on my way home Friday I decided I should top off and I'm glad I did. The next morning it was $4.29.

We have plenty of gas in MI ( my dad works for a fuel transportation company) but yes the price is up to from the 3.69 range 4.13 to 4.25 .. however in the gulf states its up to 5.00 and up and some places are out of gas.

Ours is about the same.....$3.55ish a gallon (and they pump it for you) in my county and the other populated counties in my state. But, in the more rural counties, they're paying close to $4.

We had one station that went from$3.69 on Thursday to $4.69 on Friday! Most stations in the area raised prices 25-50 cents per gallon Thursday night.

ours went up slightly.
Last week it was $3.41
today it's $3.55

We're up almost 30 cents/gal. from Friday, and we're not dependent on the southern refineries, we have our own.

In SE Alabama, ours was around $3.59 last Wednesday, it was $4.00 by Saturday, and I paid $4.09 at a Sam's Club today, but I've seen $4.19.
Many gas pumps around town were empty by Friday (some still out today) because of panic buying that began on Thursday afternoon and lasted into Saturday.

Gas prices are really getting rediculous. The price of a barrel of oil just dropped below $100.00 today. I think it closed around $98.00 per barrel. Shouldn't gas have come down around two dollars a gallon by now?
The Oil companies are price gouging and laughing all the way to the bank!

Gas went up from $3.69 to $3.79 so not much, however there are some gas stations in our area, QT, that doesn't have any gas.

Our gas is insane - it went from $3.49/gallon on Thursday to $4.99/gallon on Friday.
A lot of places have signs up saying "out of gas" or have the price on the big sign marked as $0.00..

Yes! The day before it was 3.59 and day after most places jumped to 3.89 to 3.99 and one place had theirs priced at 4.60 O_O yeah... they were taking advantage of people...
It was 4.00 last time I checked...

$3.89 for regular
$3.99 for whatever the medium regular is
$4.09 for premium
ridiculous
From what I've been reading, stations should only change the prices when a new delivery of gasoline is made for their underground tanks. They base any price change on that particular delivery, since the prices change pretty regularly.
Obviously that ain't the case right now  .

Regular went up to 4.29 and I live in WISCONSIN!!!!!
Ok, this is what I want to know. First, they said there was no damage to the refinery or pipeline or whatever it is they have out there. And second, oil was under 100 a barrel. Shouldn't our prices be in the low 2.00 range? I think it is gouging and nothing more. There is no reason they should raise prices before a hurricane hits or before a country does something stupid that they think is going to affect the gas supply. I simply don't think that is right. I can see after things happen that they might do that, but what difference does raising the price make when people have made it perfectly clear that they are going to drive no matter what? It doesn't make a huge impact when they jack up the prices so what is the point?

Where I live it is ridiculous how high the prices are compared to most of the country. I just paid $4.14 and that was with getting .10/gal off at Kroger. It was higher than that yesterday so it is coming down some, but man is it crazy!

It's over $5.30 here... And it has been like that for months now. It went down a bit, then went up because of the hurricane and now it is supposed to go down a bit, but not by much. We've been paying more than pretty much the whole states for months now. I don't know why either...

Everything I've read has said there is damage, just not as bad as they originally thought. It will take weeks to get it straightened out.

Hartville is somewhat far from us. You are out East about 40 to 50 miles from Downtown Cleveland. I live very close to Downtown.

The reason behind it however is that the station had NO gas to be sold so they were hoping that the price on the sign would keep folks from pulling in thinking that they had gas to sell. I believe the owners have just taken down all prices and put up on their sign that they didn't have any to sell. 
I just filled up for $3.59 a gallon, so no, Ike hasn't affected our gas prices.
