You know what, Betterisoneday? We have been there. We have had those times in our lives when we were not taken seriously by people who simply did not know any better. We merely survived those days, moved on eventually, and put them, and sometimes the people who went with them, behind us. Betterisoneday, you are on your way. Just take the ones who drag you down to the L-rd and let Him handle them and their actions. You can then just keep moving forward. YES! 2 cents- past is gone - once when dealing with it and dragging mine around I had a dream - to summarize - a lady bluntly asked me, "Who are you to remember what God has forgotten?" It was like the "DUH" light went on in my head... yeah, if GOD has forgotten and left those things... who am I or anyone else to remember? That old girl is dead - the life I now live I live by faith in the one who loves me! You are on your way, betterisoneday - just wait and see, years from now, you won't even recognize yourself because of all that God has done!

The day I got accepted to college, I also found out I was pregnant. Alot of my frineds were like you are gonna ruin it all. You struggled to get here. your the first to attend coollege, yada, yada. I had a beautiful baby girl She is now in college. I also had twins later in life, even the doctor was scared because it was twins and my age. They were born some of the biggest twins . 7 and 6 lbs. They are now almost 9 yrs. old. I'm glad I kept them thru thick and thin. Thank God.

(Hee-hee, Popsi!) When Roe vs Wade became the news in 1971 - 1973, bluntly, I wasn't sure what I thought regarding the issue. The case was decided after the birth of my daughter (1971) whom I wrote about on page one here, so I was curious about the issue and felt the need to make a decision regarding how I felt about it in general. I asked my mother-in-law to watch my daughter so that I could go to the main library in downtown Minneapolis to study the subject. They had all kinds of pro-abortion literature, from brochures to films to books, but the little bit they had against abortion was poorly-produced and poorly-written and argued. The pro-life people in the films were poorly prepared and not very well spoken. They were not at all convincing. But when I left that library, based upon the knowledge I gained from the information there, which was minimally 80% pro-abortion, I walked out of that place solidly pro-life. Thank G-d.

I have to tell you, many years back I read a book about the "morning after pill" so that I could discuss it intelligently. Although I still disagreed with it's use, I did see that the writers seemed to have what they felt was a woman's best interests at heart. I put the book down in the end with the feeling that these were well meaning but misguided folk, not monsters like it is is so much easier to believe. BTW, looking forward to planning a nice Thanksgiving with my wonderful grown God planned/ not mom planned daughter and her sweetie. If they come down the same time as our sons, it will be a full house cause our house is tiny. It's all good.

ORIGINAL: HighPlainsDrifter I do not have any abortion stories with me as a father or anything, but I am the result of an unwanted teen pregnancy, and I am grateful everyday that my young, unprepared mother took me to term, and allowed a young couple, unable to conceive, the opportunity to be parents. The same story is true for my younger sister. We appreciate the consequences of the choice for life quite personally. I just love to hear stories like that. I hope most adopted children feel the way you do. I wasn't married when I got pregnant, but abortion hadn't really been an option to me then. It wasn't to the father of the child either, my now husband. We got married when I was 5 months pregnant. I do have a story about my mom though. When I was a baby my mom became pregnant again. She was a single mother making very little money and totally struggling. While she was pregnant, she decided she would give my little bro up for adoption. She even got to pick the nice family he went to. A couple years ago, I tried finding him, and I found his adoptive parents, they told me that he has had a wonderful life so far and he is attending college.

But that is what makes them more dangerous -- the fact that they are really nice, concerned, decent people, but they advocate the murder of what G-d has allowed to exist. Mrs.X has, on her site, an entry named "Killing Us Softly." Although I didn't read it yet, this is what these people are doing -- killing the children ever so softly, so gently, all the time with sincerely professed mercy and tenderness toward the woman. Have a great time with you son this Thanksgiving. What a blessing that you exercised your choice to let him live. He is blessed. Mrs.X, I hope that someday, you get to meet your brother, when you are both ready.

Thanks, Abiyah, I hope I get to meet him too. You are so right about those well-meaning people claiming to "liberate" women when they're really objectifying us. That YouTube video that is on my blog on my link list explains just that. They desensitize us generation after generation. I mean, it wasn't really that long ago when they showed Ricky and Lucy Ricardo sleeping in separate beds. Fred and Wilma Flintstone were the first couple on TV to be showed sleeping in the same bed. LOL.

Perhaps it is easier to speak to these confused women when we see them as just that, confused, misguided, scared, lied to, etc. And thanks, but it is the daughter unit that God blessed me with despite my plans otherwise. My young men are stepsons. And Courdelion, I think you made a very wise choice. I can't imagine a doctor implying that they could "just terminate the pregnancy"

I just found this thread, so here's my story. I was a 17 yr old girl in foster care. I had a 28 year old boyfriend. I thought he really loved me. I think you see where that was headed! The month I ended the relationship, I missed my period. Then two. The day I had set for my "don't start freaking out yet" day came and no period. (Now even though I had accepted Christ at an early age, through bad theology and lack of support I had given up on Christianity. But I still knew God loved me, and certainly loved my baby, so...) I went to a secluded place and prayed and cried for hours. I pled for God to have mercy on my baby. I was getting drunk and high almost every night, and smoking a pack a day of cigarettes. In high school, a brave girl had done her class presentation on fetal development and abortion, so I knew my baby already had a brain and a heartbeat, and that my baby was already facing lifelong disabilities, possibly crippling deformities because of my partying. To me abortion was not an option. How could I execute a child who had never done anything wrong? It was not my child's fault I was its mother. (I praise God every time I remember for that brave girl and her class project!) I cried and said it wasn't fair that this helpless child should have to pay for my sins; that I was already a terrible mother and no one deserved that. I resolved that if I missed one more period, I would tell my foster mother. She was Catholic and I knew Catholics would help a pregnant teen with adoption. But I still felt such remorse that I could have already ruined my baby's health. I was a serious druggie and partier! No child deserved that start in life. When I cried all I could cry and prayed all I could pray, I went home. I did not go out to party that night, but I still probably had a cigarette. I went to bed early. In the middle of the night I awoke with the most horrendous cramps. I am certain I had a miscarriage. I was so grateful to God because now my baby would grow up in heaven, with a perfect start- no deformities, no disabilities, no painful rejections. This baby deserved so much better than me. So what happened? Typical of a teenager, I thanked God profusely for saving my baby and went on with my life. The only difference at that moment was that I started using birth control. But that's not the whole story, because at nineteen I became a whole-hearted, committed believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. I was delivered of all my addictions, and set out to seek the Lord day and night, every day, for the rest of my life. I am still on this quest.

ORIGINAL: PopsiLufsJesus Dona Nobis Pacem What does this mean? It is Latin for "Give us peace" or "Grant us peace". It comes from the Liturgy of the Eucharist in the Catholic Mass and is based partly on John 1:29. In Latin: Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis. Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis. Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona nobis pacem. In English: Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world, grant us peace. Peace, DNP

Shadowspring, Thank you for telling us. Young people often cannot imagine such things, while the times are fun and someone appears to love us, but such things happen -- far too often. I am grateful that now, you have recognized what went wrong and why, and you have straightened out your life before G-d. I pray that you will always walk His way and that you will be a light to those coming after you. Bless you.
