I just bought a house (ok, it's a modular....i.e. mobile home lol but VERY NICE) and it's in a park. Their rulebook says that they will plow the streets in the community but we have to shovel/snowblow our own driveways. I previously had been renting and all that was taken care of for me. Now, it's all on me.

With that being said, I am now the proud owner of a brand-new Menard's Snow Shovel!

Oh, and my aunt now lives in the same park with me just a half-mile away. We plan on going in on a snowblower for the first year, and hauling it back and forth as needed for this winter, then obtaining another so each can have one for future years.

Well there is one advantage to living in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada, we always have bad winters - but I'm fooling the weather this year. We're taking holidays and missing the worst of the winter - January and February.Yeah!!!

I used to live in the Midwest and all predictions about what type of weather we were going to have during the winter season were always waaaay off! I just quit trying to predict and had a variety of clothes on hand to wear that day.

I finally found one of those woolly bear caterpillars yesterday. The only thing that makes this one any different then the ones I saw last year is that this one appears to be lost. He has circled the rim of our fire pit for 2 days now!

One of the kids took a stick and knocked him off today, so hopefully he'll find his way!

Congrats L5FanLady on being so prepared. Aren't you supposed to wait till the first snowfall to run with everyone else to get a shovel, boots and tires?

I thought you were going to say that since you're responsible for your own sidewalks that it is definitely nt going to be a mild winter.

Or checked Wally World first.

It's not too late, though....still have the reciept and can return it if I find something better!
