They're not Christians. As for her relationship with her father, I'm not sure. Everything seems okay. Why? Do women usually marry men like their father? I stayed clear of that one! My father and I don't have a good relationship due to his temper and anger issues. That's why I'm so concerned not to act like him in this situation with my friend.

The Scriptures show us an example of social structure that Adonai intends for us. Even if one is not a believer or others do not live this way, one can still receive the blessings that follow from living a biblical lifestyle. I asked regarding her father because, the Scripture imply that it is best for unwed women to be supervised. I know this is not PC, but ,as tha advertising industry can attest, women are more easily influenced. If one has some one to whom they answer, it is easier for them to stay out of trouble. Maybe your friend's example can encourage you and your husband to strengthen your own family ties as the Scriptures indicate.

I agree, most of the time when people act that way they either don't like themselves and take it out on others, or they like to get attention. They may not have of gotten positive attention growing up. Negative attention always worked for them. Any attention was better than none. When you react the opposite of what they expect they notice the difference in you. It may take awhile but eventually they will see acceptance and possibly start to respond to your kindness. In the meantime it's teaching you patience.
