Also, I'm always using the internet to search for new songs. New Contemporary Christians songs to be exact...

Sometimes I will look for them on myspace too!

2500!!!

I'm constantly looking up words and how they are spelled. Either for me or for the ones I live with. Sometimes it is because one of us is sure of what is sounds like or how it is spelled and the other one is sure that it isn't...

I'm so tired. Perhaps I should google how it is I am supposed to sleep when I am keeping an eye on this child...

Another thing I have googled is information on how Jesus hung on the cross...Found it interesting...

Eh, I'm too sleepy to type anymore. I am going to go find something less taxing to do.

This was a good idea for a thread Abiyah.

And I just realized that I'm a 5 STAR person now! Yay for me...

I Googled my name and they said I don't exist.

I asked Yahoo for a second opinion. They said I'm ugly too !!!

I was disappointed to learn that Jael means lousy mountain goat because that is what I wanted to name my first Daughter. Except to make it Jayelle, looks more feminine. I just love the story in the Bible.
You should have looked further.

http://judaism.about.com/od/hebrewname1/tp/names_gy.htm

3. Yael (Jael) was a heroine in the Bible. Yael means "to ascend" and "mountain goat."

When you see the "el" in any Hebrew word it means to lift up, something high, or God (as the Most High). So the name is not just a goat, but to ascend to high places like a mountain goat.

Speaking of Pastor Watford. I've done google searches on him. You probably shouldn't tell him about them though. He might think that is creepy. I just wanted to know more about him is all!

I love my Pastor to pieces!

I've looked up people on the internet that I know, too. When my husband was first interviewed for the church, I googled the chairman of the board and found an article where he sang for a firefighter's convention.

When my landlord was really sick I looked up the name of his friend who kept us informed. Learned he was an attorney and probably knew what he was talking about, and probably ensured my landlord had his affairs in order.

Then when he passed away, I looked up his daughter (who took over the estate) and learned she is also an attorney as is her husband. Found where they lived and even what political affiliation they have.

...One of those times was when searching on history for the Boston subway system and discovering that Cincinnati has a secret subway system that was built but never put into use at all, who knew?

No kidding? Just last Friday we were commenting amongst ourselves at work how it seems only the northern cities have subways(?), and thought maybe Cincy would be the southern most city to have one, if at all. Well, now I know it sorta has one.

Now if you are interested, here is the link.

I went to YAHOO and asked: "Is Google better?"

Now what did it say?

There is actually something about my old Pastor on the internet also.

And of course, I'm sure most of us have done searches for scripture. Good ol' Biblegateway.

I like Biblegateway too!

I looked up things about my old church and was stunned at some of the stuff I learned, much of which has magically disappeared. I also looked up one of my synagogue leaders and was stunned at how much stuff is on the Internet about him. Pages and pages. He was surprised, too, when I told him.

Hi Abiyah, your post pikes my curiousity and I looked up information on my first church just to see what was out there. The results were fairly interesting!

I have tried looking up some things and was disappointed with what I learned; then I have looked up other things and been pleasantly surprised. But anyone out there with a vendetta can wreak havoc on someone with their computer garbage.

But some people do! Which is why I have purposely planted stuff out there that confuses the Internet track!

Yes, but not funny stuff. Just rabbit-trail stuff that looks legit. It depends on what search-words you use.

Oh snap, I was hoping it would be funny. I need funny right now, CW frustrated me because someone deleted a thread and was blocking me from seeing the rest of my threads, but then I had to unsubscribe to all my threads and am resubscribing now...UGH!

sometimes when a number comes up on the phone you don't know you can use the internet to possibly find out who it was
