I had no idea we were that close to each other! We actually lived in Nashville, GA for six months while DH was working in Douglas. I've never been to Lake Park, but I've seen signs for it when we were in Valdosta.

If you can, I'd love to meet up for lunch while you're in Tallahassee!

I'm with Emily. We have to plan way in advance and this visit is too soon for us. If there's another get-together in the spring, we'd LOVE to come... especially if there's a Braves Game in the mix! I haven't been to one since before Luke was born.

Hey that's cool. I was just shooting around in the dark here, since it's something that I think has been on people's minds for a little while, and I thought I'd see if it could really happen. There might be only a few families show up for the first time around, but with a few months planning, we could really get something going.

We can absolutely try a second meeting in the Spring! Elizabeth will be a few months old then, and I love baseball.

Wow, that sounds like so much fun. I especially like the Stone Mountain idea. We've been to the Indianapolis Children's Museum several times this year, and if we travelled that far it would be to see the country, not to see a museum. My birthday is in November and I've been trying to talk my husband into going on a vacation during that area. He's not really said anything either way on it, yet, which actually makes we wonder if he's got a surprise planned.

The thread has gone pretty quiet, so can I ask if anyone's still interested? What are your final thoughts?

Would it work better to plan something farther in advance for the springtime? If it's a no go, that's cool, I just thought I'd give it a try.

My husband still isn't giving me a straight answer on whether or not to take a vacation on my birthday.

Maybe we could do a North Florida/South Georgia get-together... but our places aren't as cool as Atlanta's. For some reason, gathering at the Agrirama in Tifton doesn't have the same appeal!

Well, we may be going to Lousiana. So close, and not quite close enough. My husband has a friend there has a roof that was damaged by a hurricane and he's thinking of taking vacation time to go fix it.

Well, it looks like we have a few families who think they can make it. After Nathan goes to sleep tonight I'll pull out a few dates and ask y'all what works for you. Maybe the first get together is small, but I'm thinking we could really have something by spring!

Could be baseball, could be something else.

Atlanta is in Alberta, Canada right?

I so wish I could meet you all! How rude of you to live so darn far away from me!

Okay, those lucky few who think they can make a fall meeting...

It seems like we're all cool with the Children's Museum followed by lunch on a Saturday (if not, please correct!). The following dates are Oct 18th or 25th. Nov 1st is the Saturday following Halloween, so I don't know if that'll affect things. After that Nov 8th or later if we need to.

Jessica and Laura are the ones who (I believe) said they'd be in. What do you ladies think?

I think a pic of John Cooper, Judah and Nathan all together would be awesome, but I'm looking forward to seeing Ella and Wes, too.

Hasn't your hubby posted a pic of himself as his avatar? He's not what I imagined, but that's only because I imagine most pastors to be graying and a little on the portly side... and Shane's not.

I'm pretty sure you've got to be a nice looking lady, you're kids are way to cute!

Chelle said she would too - right? So long as it was after her company left.
Hunter in the mix would be super cute

I need to check on Paul's schedule before committing to a weekend!
I'll get back with you

The HoneyBee festival is in Hahira GA today. M'love and I are joining the bike ride. No time to plan but anyone in the area who might be going, we'll be wearing black Army shirts once we are done with the ride.

I can't do a trip right now. In fact, I really won't be able to do a trip until Spring time. No telling where we will be living or what Ray's job will be by that time though.

One thing to keep in mind....if you want to attract women who are single or without children, a Children's Museaum may not be the best idea. Just a thought for the future!

For you ladies who can go this month...have a blast!

Aboveall and I were talking a few months back about seeing if we could get a group of couples from CW together and we can choose a marriage conference to go to. Perhaps the "Weekend To Remember" one or something.

Or, if we wanted to do a true "womens" get together, we could do that too! Maybe we should start a new thread with a poll that we can change. We can choose the date, location, activities and such.

What does everyone think?

Hey, if you want to take the lead, I'll support you. For many reasons I don't think this month will work for anyone, but I figured nothing ventured, nothing gained.
