How can love be perfect if we remember one another? How can we remember one another without those variances that distinguishes us? Do you think that, once in heaven, once we have the full power of just how much Christ has forgiven us, that we will have any problem forgiving one another for what we did to each other on earth? Well, Fribbles, if you must. I still wanted to hear about the Scripture about this forgiving others from heaven, and also perfecting our sinful humanity, because discussions that involve words like this are not commonplace in Christian theology. But, since you are obviously in some sort of moderator training, best wishes. You muddied up this thread quite well.

In Luke 16:19-31 Lazarus could see the rich man in Hell and he knew whom he was so why wouldnt we know who our brothers and sisters in Christ are when we get to Heaven.

"Will we know one another in Heaven?"...I surely hope so indeed, as I intend to meet my parents again with their new bodies up in Heaven (as both of them were cremated per their request). We could talk, walk, and get together again, although NOT like usual earthly habits though. Oh, how I long for that moment,...thank You Jesus, amen.

Actually, I read that as the rich man seeing Lazarus in Abraham's bosom in heaven. Not the other way around. That would make more sense to those unrepentent who will be in Hades instead of Heaven. Part of their torment being seeing the comfort & peace those who reach heaven & knowing all too late, that they too could have the same peace. On the other hand, IF Lazarus could in fact have seen the agonizing pain that the rich man was enduring in Hades, then taking into consideration "perfected love", would his heart not have gone out to him in his agony then? If not, would he then possibly been looking at the rich man thinking, "Oooh man, you should've been good to me when I was laying at your gate" sort of mindset? I just don't think we will recognize one another as we know each other here. It just makes no sense to me, considering love "perfected".

I've read this thread again - right from the beginning. And I ask myself - what is the real meaning behind the question asked? Of course we'll know each other in Heaven. Imagine if the opposite were the case. We're walking around, everyone looks a stranger, you tentatively say "Hello" to someone and he replies: "Don't you know me? I'm your own brother!" You look deeply in his face and think: "How did he know me? We're not supposed to know each other in Heaven". Enough said ..... P.S. Just in case ... I'll be wearing a red hat.

What if I replied, "Oh yeah, I remember you. You raped me when I was seven. So glad you made it". I've read it over, too (the thread) and if the opposite were in fact the case, then I can see heavenly bliss because not everyone has happy memories of one another, but hopefully everyone will repent of their wrongs & make it to heaven.

I dont have Scripture for this, and of course, Im the one that started this thread searching for answers for a friend that was told that we "wouldnt" know one another, and I still havent responded to her with any answer because Im just not sure after reading everyones response, but anyway, what I was going to say is that, in my heart, i do feel that we will know one another, I do feel like I will see my Grandfathers again, along with other family members and friends, but as far as all the bad, I just dont believe that we will remember any of it. The Bible tells us, there will be no more tears there.

You know what Misty35? Your friend is grieving the loss of someone she dearly loves & if the thought of seeing him again is all that is keeping her together, then you can tell her that she can rest easy knowing that she will in fact see him again. I do not know of scripture that supports this, but I do know of experience that supports it. My mother died 19 years ago & with that, I thought anything & everything good in this world had ended, but since that day, God has shown me that she is at peace with Him. Peace & happiness, something that she was not always afforded in this life. I have prayed for her comfort and not too often, but periodically I dream of her. In those dreams, she is always happy & peaceful. That brings me joy. That makes my days here much happier because I know that my mother deserves this more than I ever have and this may just be God's way of comforting me in that. If your friend trusts in God, then I have no doubt that she too will find that same comfort & solace. Keep praying for your friend & God will comfort her.

What I believe is that we will see our loved ones again in heaven and that everyone will look the way you remember them...so that everyone will look different to different people. We recently discussed this topic in Sunday school not that long ago and we could not find scripture to support it one way ir the other.
