Most of us here in Colorado (i live in Aurora and work in Denver) knew it would lead to no good when we got the massive influx of Californians in the '90's. A popular bumper sticker here in the early part of that decade read " Welcome to Colorado, now get the hell out", a sentiment i cannot say i disagreed with. (this is a general statement against the secular liberal Californian's who came here, i know there are many good people from that state)

The size of the lots in the city itself may be comparable to those in Calif but if you get outta town into the outlying areas they are much bigger. I live on an acre lot. Further out is real acreage.

Funny thing happened on the way out here six years ago. I had a flat with a no good spare and after spending the night on the shoulder of I-10 way out in west Texas I had some time to spare at the truck stop getting my tire changed. Was talking with a trucker and he asked me why I was coming to Texas from Calif. Told him the liberalism and budget problems were a concern and I wanted to make a new start somewhere where my politics weren't out of step with the rest of the population. He agreed that Calif was acting like a socialist country but I'd better beware, Texas was becoming the same way. I'm finding he is right and I am fighting to stop that influx of ideas from the left coast.
