I am mad at myself. Yesterday I had a job interview at a company and just as it all seemed like a go, I asked something that I thought threw a monkey wrench in things. For the rest of the day yesterday and all day today while at work I could not help but think about how I "blew" the interview and that I will never be able to get another job!

I ended up working extra hours at work today and got somewhat of a guarantee that things will be busy there and I should be able to get some decent hours at work. I got home with only 2 messages on my machine fully expecting bad news or no news. The first message was a hang-up phone call (telemarketer call.) The second message was from the company that I applied at, and they said to call ASAP!

Also, yesterday they were supposed to send me an email that I never received, but it turned out that it got lost in cyberspace instead. I checked my email messages and it said that I had one new message. This was also from the employer! To make a long story short, the temp agency that I applied for will ask me to meet the client next week if all goes well.

So here I did all this worrying for nothing, to the point of where I am still in disbelief that I actually got a call back. God reminded me something earlier before getting home. He has my back!

Job update:

Well my boss is insisting that I stay even though my heart is almost all but set on going to the new position. To be honest, I really do not know what to do at this point. I guess I will stay as they are offering me all these bells and whistles. Don't get me wrong, the new boss is a really nice guy! However I just do not know if I can continue working on litigation copying (aka legal copying, which I would still be doing if I take th enew position.)

Another thing is that the new position is a temp to perm position. The representitives are saying that it is really good place to work for. Barring the fact that it is a law firm, I know that they would have a great benefits package if I go there.

The other side of it all is no matter where I end up, it will likely not be for more than a year or two as working with the vocational counselor I will be going into a new field such as marketing or maybe even, broadcasting but who knows.

So anyway, prayers would be much appreciated because my existing boss is not taking no for an answer and the new employer is waiting me out to see what I will do.

I caved, my job gave me everything I asked for plus dental insurance and I ended up deciding to stay. I have very mixed feelings over this, however I have this real feeling that I made a bad decision. God still has my back, I got to remember that. What else can I say?

Just a couple of things to mention on all of this. I never expected my employer to give me what I asked for. Also dental insurance is hard to come by. I am also technically working for a new company, one where growth is pretty much guaranteed and the stresses of the old job will not be there in the same capacity.

The new position would have been a temp position initially, and that made me a little nervous. It would have been different if it was a bona-fide offer. Even the temp agency said to fully expect a counter offer. Oh well, *sigh* God's grace is sufficient.

Work is turning out to be a blessing, I got my pay raise in my check today. One thing about Massachusetts is that they are mandating that every person have healthcare by July. Now I may or may not qualify for the free plan, however my work offers it to full time employees which I think they have hired me as. So I might have to sulk it up and pay $200 a month for healthcare because they only pay 50%.

Other things, it turns out that I would have been wrong for the new job afterall. When they relisted it, they said that it was very fast-paced, and I do not do good in those environments at all. So maybe it is blessing in disguise as I got a pay raise at my existing job. God still has my back and will bless me wherever I go!

I received a call yesterday from my former employer on a job that I had applied for online that I looked like the ideal canidate for. When I called them today they said it was for a supervisory position and that they would pass my resume on the hiring manager. They seemed surprised that I worked for the company before. Did they even look at my resume? It is doubtful that I will be getting (or wanting) this new job.

Well, the job didn't pan out. They were looking for a supervisor and well, that is not a position that I am interested in, among other things.

One thing that is bothering me right now is that our former Governor of Massachusetts passed a mandatory Universal health care law last year. Now this is good in theory, however I could end up spending $200-$300 in monthly premiums if I am forced to take it, but if my work is allowed to contribute then it would not be as bad.

Also, there is still the option of taking my works healthcare plan instead as well, which would still be about $200 out of my pocket monthly.

I need prayer on this. I know that God still has my back and it will all work out somehow, but right now I am not feeling so optimistic.

Well, I am relieved! It looks like I will not have to be spending much for healthcare afterall. I was misinformed by media hype so it appears.

I am thinking about cutting my time down from forums. If I do take a break or vanish, you can email me at humbleinspirit2(at)aim.com Make sure that you mention your username and that you are from Forums.

Not much to report, just keeping my blog active.

My acid-reflux is acting up again, my fault. I really do need to eat better! Also, I am getting Cable TV today too. Should be interesting to see what I have been missing for the past 3 years as well.

I might be taking a break from Crosswalk, that could be permanent. If you like to keep in touch, you can email me at Humbleinspirit2@AIM.com

A radio station here started a new promotion this week sending a person out as their secret "fugitive." The station gives hints and has people asking are you "The WROR Fugitive?" Someone asked me this week if I was? I said no but I heard of him though.

It is an interesting contest because it gives the station attention and free publicity by everyone asking are you "The WROR fugitive?"

Its tax time again. I still as of yet to file, however since I live in Massachusetts and because of the State Holiday (Patriots Day), I do not have to file until tomorrow.

Been thinking of the song How To Save A Life a lot these past few months. The song is about when the singer of the group was a counselor at a camp and there was a kid that had a lot happen to him in life and didn't know how to relate to it.

I think that is how some churches are to people as well. You have a flesh wound and they are only able to give you a band-aid.

Still concerned about the new State mandated health insurance. Because my employer actually offered me health insurance (at a cost that I cannot afford). I might not be eligible for a State sponsored plan. I may have to find another job just so this doesn't financially burden me.

On a lighter note, I came across an old Christian video online which I started a thread for: Carry The Light Video How many remember this song and can name the artists in the video?

I found out yesterday that I will have health insurance by June 1st. Its still expensive but it looks like that I will qualify for a subsidy that will help off-set the cost. I should know within 3 weeks how much they will cover.

This leads me to the Indiana GT in June. Do I go by faith and buy my tickets now, or do I wait until I hear the final word on it all so I know how to budget? Chances are I am going, but right now I am still taking a wait and see approach.

This song If Everyone Cared has been going through my mind lately. It is the cry of the world with lyrics:

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

While not theologically true, isn't this what heaven would be like? Maybe this is what we should tell unbelievers, which reminds me we should be presenting the Gospel as "good news!" How many times has it been taught the turn or burn mentality? Where's the good news in that?

I know I have been guilty of it myself, but I hope that I can think outside the box and proclaim the gospel as "good news" as well!

I just thought I would let everyone know that I did get approved for the subsidy from the State, praise God! Now my monthly premiums for health insurance will go down to only $130 a month!

In other news, I am looking forward to the GT, it should be fun!

I just wanted to post about God's faithfulness:

He has been faithful to me with my "new" job.

He has been faithful with blessing me with finances.

He has been faithful with where I live.

He has been faithful with things that I worry about that He has taken care of things.

He has been faithful when I was at the bottom of the pit, but rescued me! (Psalm 40)

What was I doing back in 1990? WOW, well I just started my first full time job, didn't have a tv so I was listening to lots and lots of Top 40 Dance radio at the time. And oh yeah, I was kinda running from the Lord at the time too.

I have been having a hard time with work lately, there is too much overtime and it is burning me out. I did work 4 hours today too, which was kinda tiring. I have a full weeks vacation in about 2 weeks. I am surely looking forward to it!

Ladies and Gentleman who read my blog. I have officially made it through another week. Now just one more week until I go on vacation and go to Chicago again, yeah!

Also, for all my fans who follow my threads in she says. Sometimes I come up with thread ideas that transcend she says and are posted in other areas instead. Now why do I bring this up? Because the threads that I post in other folders tend to get far less traffic.

For example here is one thread that hasn't had any traffic yet: Study says men, women are similarly talkative

Now my other thread on on the other hand has been doing fairly well: Men and Bathing Suits/Swimming
