ORIGINAL: ImBrandNew Thank you Sharon-Marie, I keep thinking should I change my name too or just stick with Humbleinspirit instead? I have had this handle for 10 years now. I'm glad you kept your picture up so I knew who it was. Sharon-Marie, I like your new handle. :) Cranky, is that really you? You look so young I thought it was a daughter or something. I can't think of any highs or lows. Things are usually pretty much the same.

ago when consecrated2God was really young You could get yourself in trouble for that remark. I remember thinking EVERYONE was almost exactly my age (within a few years) and being surprised to learn differently. Also, it used to be that there were folks who teased I was too young for them to call me Momma. I don't hear that anymore. I don't take it personally. I am excited. I get a milestone birthday this year - bring it on!

Bill - I can see your beautiful avatar now! Is that recent? I'm wondering because there's no snow. Has it all melted away on the beaches? Thank you ma'am. That's the second picture I took with my new camera when I got to the beach. The only snow that's left is the big piles from the plows. Everything else got rained away already. Snow doesn't usually last this time of year. Gotta confess, I thought your new avatar was an old picture. How do you manage to get younger looking as you age? Got a painting in your attic? quote:

ORIGINAL: momma_bee I got the first hug in the thread. A silly thing, but it made me smile and I really needed that today. Oh, MBee!!! I'm so glad! I was having a hard time deciding how far back to go with the posts to begin the hugs . . . but God knew! I hope your day has improved in the meantime. quote:

ORIGINAL: Howzat... Didn't really have one low. But every now and then I have a depressing day because I simply cannot shake the feeling of guilt over knowing that somehow I could have done more for my father, in the years before he died. And that was three years ago. I wonder if I'll just have to deal with this forever. Aww, Pam. I'm sorry to hear this.

It wasn't even photoshopped; I'm not really into having my photos manipulated; especially photos of me . . . I'd rather be WYSIWYG about the whole thing.

Tell that to my mirror! I look into that glass of reflection and there's a woman with crows feet looking back at me. She seems vaguely familiar . . .

Yep I changed my name--but not really--cause Patricia is my name. I do not think you will be seeing my picture here. I'm shy like that you know.

Kath, I hope Larry and Linz recover well! Sounds like you are having to be quite the caretaker.

Happy New Year to Shar-Mar and all the other Zooneys here in Zooneyville! Shar-Mar, I like your new handle . . . but I lo-o-o-o-ve your picture! You are such a lovely lady! Your spirit shines through gloriously, especially in your eyes. If a person had never met you before or heard of your relationship with Jesus, they'd know something was different just by looking in your eyes. Just thought I'd let you know. Mary and I spent New Years Eve at TGIFridays for dinner, then the Blessing Service at church, and finally home for a glass of Welch's Sparkling Red Grape and wtaching Travis Pastrana launch himself in a Subaru rally car 265' from a ramp on the Long Beach pier to a barge in the bay. Yesterday evening, we went to the little soiree at our friend's house. It turned out to be a lovely evening, with my ribs being the hit of the night. When Mary and I suggested getting together with this family, we'd only planned on ribs, mashed potatoes, green beans, and maybe a simple garden salad. It turned into ribs, cole slaw, green beans, blackeyed peas, mac & cheese, a salad of baby lettuce, baby spinach, fresh pears, shaved almonds, blueberries, and dressing. We also had lime sherbet, spumoni, and ChoKahlua Cheesecake for dessert (which is so sinfully good, it should be made illegal!!). And the 2 family get-together became a 4 family blowout, which meant that I was cooking for 15 people instead of 7. But it was so much fun! One little serious note about yesterday: before we asked the blessing, I shared with the group that they were being included in a West family tradition of barbecued ribs for New Years dinner. It's something that Mom began after my Dad died, and it became a fun part of our lives. When Mom became unable to continue the tradition, I stepped up and took over. In fact, when I made them last year for Mom, she proclaimed them the best that I'd ever done. So now, I'm continuing the family tradition, but I'm including my friends as a part of it. This was very hard for me, but having them around made it a bit easier. Forgive my bit of rambling, gang, but I just needed to do it. I pray that 2010 is a wonderful year for all of you! Duane
