Eek...I got unsubbed somehow!!!

Lisa, I thought of some more possibilities (Cindy can correct me if I'm wrong)...allergy to penicillin limits the antibiotics that can be given and maybe it wasn't responding to them quickly enough (I don't know if she's allergic...just throwing that out there because I am allergic), throwing up often accompanies strep so maybe trouble keeping medicine down?

My kids' rooms are a disaster. I do not have time to deal with them. I will probably spend all day Tuesday up there doing my homework and doling out "jobs" until they are done. Tuesday is my one day with no school and no running around. I wish they could just go up there and do it, but they always seem to make more of a mess! Grrrrr.

Mr. Manly found his floor today. He's been getting better at that as he's getting older, but it disappears very quickly again.

I was supposed to get together with my friend this afternoon. Sigh..... It was more than I could do today. I did email her but I feel so bad about letting her down.

I've decided to do the Susan Koman 3-day walk for the cure. 20miles every day. Should be fun!!! I'm planning on doing the one in Arizona in mid-November. It fits best with my race schedule, plus, I might be able to spend a day or two with my parents. The race director friend of mine's wife was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The race company has a team for the Race for the Cure 5K. I just emailed him to see if he would be interested in forming a team for the 3-day. We'll see what happens!

WOF, praying for all of you. I know you'll miss your dad.

His, you need to give yourself permission to take care of yourself. That includes permission to cancel plans if you don't feel up to it. Friends understand those things. Question . . . how long have you lived without a girlfriend - someone CLOSE enough to drop over for coffee and cry on the phone with and borrow things? We all need that, especially when we are going through stuff. I'm praying for a really deep, strong, Melissa-n-me type of friendship for you . . . someone who will give you the love and support you need for YOU.

Speaking of Melissa-n-me, we were total slugs yesterday. I haven't been feeling well, so Sunday I worked from her house and yesterday I called off entirely. She didn't feel well either, so we both literally sat on the couch all day. We told her husband he should bring a backhoe and some chocolate home . . . he could bury us together in the backyard with the chocolate, and we'd be happy for eternity. I kept saying, "I really should go home," but I couldn't drum up the energy. I think I finally left her house around 10:30. I'm still not feeling great today, but being a slug is not an option.

Cindy--It's been a very long time. I had a really good group of friends in my bible study group. I had to give that up when I started hsing. Without that constant contact, those friendships just fizzled. Plus, considering what I've been going through lately, it is very scary to let anyone get too close. I havent' heard from my friend so I think I totally blew it.

I've gotten a lot done so far today. Got the kitchen cleaned. Helped ds1 replace a light switch. Question--what circuit would you think the family room lights would be on? Family room? Kitchen? NOT A CLUE!!! Ds1 ended up having to hit the master kill because we couldn't find it! I was doing well with laundry but somehow when ds1 hit the master kill, it killed my washer.

I need to get out for a run. It's a beautiful day--sunny and warm. It's just an easy 6miler. We did a hard 7miles on Sunday, so this should be no biggie. But... it's another one of those days where I"m afraid to go out. Good thing ds1 is running with me. He'll bug me until we go.

You didn't blow it, His. You just didn't. You are doing the best you can and that is good enough.

Have you ever emailed someone and when they answered, their answer had nothing to do with your question, but it was exactly what you needed to hear and exactly when you needed to hear it?

Cynthia--when did you change your sig line?

I have to work this evening. It's a library reading program. I seriously doubt there will be many kids. It's the first warm spring day. Kids will be out playing, like they should! But, it's good to be able to chat with the other handlers. Usually we don't get a chance to visit.

Glad your spiritual life is improving His.

I got a message from one of my friends saying that by not attending the congregation I'm just hurting myself, what would I do about Purim and Pesach, blah, blah, blah. Be the bigger person.

Sigh.

Today someone else called and asked if h and I wanted to be table hosts for the Seder. Obviously my answer is no.

Someone else emailed me and told me I was missed-which is nice-and that she hoped she would see me at the place sometime soon.

Going to be a long wait.

Not sure, but at least a couple of weeks.

Read this online today :

http://www.brightok.net/sulphurtimes/news1.html

quote:

A second grade discipline situation, rehiring all certified and probationary teachers for the 2010-2011 school year, and electing new officers highlighted a lengthy Sulphur School Board meeting Monday evening.

A dozen parents were present for the Public Participation portion of the meeting when two parents made brief presentations regarding a discipline incident at Sulphur Elementary February 26.

Parent Amanda Jones told the Board that Sulphur Elementary Principal Cathryn Harmon called her March 2 to inform her that "her child was a bad kid and had to sit on a (roped off) concrete slab during recess," and that all of the second grade students would have morning recess taken away. Jones explained that the second grade students were asked to put the name of "bad kids" in a bucket and if a child got their name in the bucket 10 or more times they were required to sit out recess on the concrete slab. Jones voiced concern over the situation.

A second parent, Shawn Terry, claimed "asking students who is bad turns it into a popularity contest." "My daughter is GT (gifted/talented), makes straight A's, and has no discipline problems, why is she loosing her recess?" he asked. Terry encouraged more parent involvement in situations such as this one.

During the executive session portion of the School Board meeting, the situation was first discussed by the board members. Then Principal Harmon was called in for additional discussion. Following this session, Superintendent Paula Crawford told those present, "The discipline situation has been taken under advisement by the board and was turned over to administration."

Bad kid ? Bucket ? This is my hometown school. What is this principal thinking ?

Hi everyone!
I finally got back to a library so I could get on CW. Ds's idea of having a laptop is sounding better every day.

I am going to look at some mobile homes not too far from where we used to live.
BTW, there are a couple of jobs in the paper up here, too.

Dh is still in MO and still calling us. He wants us to go down there because he is getting a 2 bedroom apt that allows pets, has a pool and gym...etc. Looks nice on the internet BUT I don't know if it's nice enough to leave the grandkids again, especially the 2 littlest ones.....One is about a week old and the other is 4 months old.....
Going to look at the moblile homes now. Pray that if we are supposed to be here, we will be able to rent or buy something, OK?

Cynthia, thanks for changing your sig line.

Jackie, that is the stupidest thing I ever heard. Do ya think that if there was a bully in the school that his/her name would even get into the bucket??

My dear, dear Judy, You are beloved by God. He wants to provide for you and does not want you living in an abusive situation. A nice pool and gym will not make up for all the belittling comments, shouting, controlling behavior, etc.
It's good that there are jobs in the paper where you are considering moving. Are you qualified for the jobs? Have you applied? I suggest you look for the job first and then see what you can afford and what's available.

I cringe every single time I see that misuse. How do you "loose" your recess? Or your mind? Or you keys?

That sounds like a lesson! I wonder what things in my life I have let loose so I can go forward and get some place.

Y'all are too funny! One vet practice I worked at the receptionist was forever write "loosing hair". The vet had once been an English teacher and would go nuts!

Another mis-spelling that had my running site rolling yesterday--someone posted that they enjoy eating Cool Whip out of the bowel. Of course, everyone was cringing at the thought of that. Sadly, he didn't realize he mis-spelled it.

Ds2 has been taking the Ohio Graduation Test this week. They have 2hrs to take the test. He's been finishing in 30mins. Nervous mom that I am, I've been scolding him, reminding him that he should have gone back over his work. The goal shouldn't be beating his friends time, his goal should be to pass the stupid thing! I was talking with another mom at the gym earlier this week. She said her son was finishing just as quickly. It's covering mostly 8th grade material. They only need like a 40% to pass.

Oh, and the other stupid public school thing... Not bashing ps, just shaking my head. Ds1 does not have credit for 1st semester geometry. The charter school kicked him out before the end of the term, public school couldn't take him near the end of the term, that whole mess. Ds2 started 2nd semester geometry and within a week or two had caught up and is now earning a B+. Guess what--they are making him re-take 1st semester!
