Hey Trish...

Christmas was good and my New Year \ Birthday was awesome. My oldest step son got saved on Christmas Eve and my oldest son has come to accept as he says, "the mind blowing concept of grace". LOL! He came by yesterday for my B-Day and he also borrowed two Bibles and a wonderful book for those who have many questions.... So far 2007 rocks!!!!

We stayed home and cooked and enjoyed a wonderful visit with my oldest son... my newly saved oldest son!!!!! HE came and borrowed some Bibles from me and it was the most wonderful visit and day!!! My oldest stepson also got saved on Christmas Eve (and was there with us also) so Bobby and I are both excited...

As my kids in Sunday School say, "WOOOOOO HOOOOOO MISS NORA, 2 DOWN and 6 MORE TO GO (Bobby and I have 8 together)!!" My Sunday School kids are my prayer partners and my greatest joy! That I have the privilege of teaching them is funny cause most days they teach me!!

My youngest turned 18 in Dec and she really needs some prayer... she is running and running in the wrong direction... but I know the plan and I am standing on the promise that is in me... I have watched that promise come to pass with the oldest so I will continue to believe as always for the rest of them… GOD is still in control!

I was over at your thread wondering about you!!!

Thank you for the prayers girl!! She is in that awkward place between adulthood and still needing some direction from mom!!! I just pray I guide and not push and cause her to rebel any more than she is!!!

OMG... it has been over 5 months since I posted in here! And so much has happened in that time... let me see if I can do a quick recap

1. In Feb our new pastor arrived and my workload at church increased... I am almost a full time secretary and loving it!

2. I am also the director of our Angel Food Ministry we are blessed to be a part of and I am still teaching Sunday School... I have all the teens’ 7th - 12th for the summer. I will go back to the 9-12th in the fall! They are a great blessing and joy!

3. My oldest son was baptized on June 3rd and it appears I am going to have a son in ministry and I am of course feeling way to proud and blessed by the thought!!

4. My second son graduated on May 12th from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago! I feel in love with the Chicago Opera House where the graduation was held... it was packed out!

5. My youngest child and baby girl graduated from High School on May 19th and I am very proud of her... she is not wanting to go back to school just yet... I am praying that changes soon!

6. My #2 stepdaughter is expecting!!! Grandbaby #8 is on the way... I am excited!!!

7. My hubby and I will be in Nashville in a few weeks attending "The Call" a 12 hour prayer ad fasting event! We are going as spiritual cover for several of our young people and are excited to be part of it!

8. We as a church are starting some new out reach and I am so excited about the chance to really help others in our community and there is great need here in several areas!!!

Over all I have had a few low spots over the past few months, but God has been faithful and provided all I have needed to get through and past them... I am still a very Blessed woman and my GOD is the still and always will be the GREATEST!

IT TOTALLY BLOWS MY MIND THAT I NEGLECT THIS PLACE SO!!! 4MTHS AND NOT ONE POST!

This a copy of a blog I posted else where and it explains only in part what is going on in our life and of course for those who read Maggie's thread you also know my darling 18 yr old daughter is expecting! She is doing well and we expect a sweet baby in March / April 2008. The boyfriend is doing well at the moment and I am really praying for both of them as they are both yet sinners! But God is good and I believe that it is only a mater of time! Soo here is the latest...

Funny how we get it in our head how God is going to work in our lives and how it "all" will turn out and in an instant you realize you are looking at a closed door. I have struggled for several weeks with a feeling in my spirit of restlessness that almost was overwhelming... In the last 2 weeks all I thought I knew is now changed and thru it all I see God's hand and part of me is like... Hey MAN you could have warned me!

My husband after 34 years of working for the Department of Corrections is retiring... due to situations beyond his control... I could whine with justification here about unfairness... but it won't change anything so I will take the high road here.

I have over the last few months had several changes at church... I was not asked to teach again this quarter... we lost all but few of our youth in August due to staff change and the current theme seems to be that the church is going in a very different direction that it was. I have felt confined and restricted in some areas in my spiritual life and it is hard at times. After much prayer God has reminded me of the first love HE placed in my heart and I realize that in my current position, there will be no chance for growth or hopes of seeing that first love birthed. I realize that there are seasons for every thing and it is now time to move on to what God has placed before us!

The big change is that my darling and I will be relocating to Jonesboro AR at the end of October. State retirements are way short of what is required to live now days and the job opportunities locally are slim. The move will also allow me to explore some avenues that will allow me to pursue my hearts desire... I know HE can provide the means if I will just obey. SOOOOOOOOO my life once again takes a major turn... funny thing is with every closed door HE has opened the windows to show me the beautiful view of my future... I don't see all but I see what I need to see today! The bonus is that I get to relocate to a town that is growing daily and my mother just happens to live there… yeah for ME!

Please pray for my darling and I as we step out into the wild blue yonder and trust God to show us the path... Grant us faith dear Lord so we may see what you see and not what are frail human eyes do... increase our faith so that we may fulfill YOUR will in our life!

Nora

Thanks Nora, ya know I do spend so much time over there for the same reason. However I realize, coming here is more uplifting than over there and I come away from here with a lighter heart.

WOW! Let's do a quick update as so much has changed since I last posted here....

1. My hubby has been working for the last two weeks with my brother in AR driving a Huge front end loader... and loving it! Boys and their big toys! LOL

2. AND! I got a job at the local hospital (in AR) working at the behavioral health unit as a psych tech... I start training on Nov 5th! I am so excited that I finally have my foot in the door and I am working toward my goal in that area. I went to a 3 day womens conference and WOW! I did get a name to all my hearts longing... Street Mother... and the area we are moving too will be a great jumping off point in ministry, a large growing college town! I am just amazed at what GOD is doing in our life at this time...

3. My daughter is doing great and is going to stay in our home in TN to tend my animals til we get a place of our own (we are going to stay with my mom for now). She and the baby are doing well and baby daddy is staying very involved... I got to hear the heartbeat on Monday and I was so amazed and in awe... my grandchild...It was a teary eyed moment for all of us...

WOW.... I really can't believe how quickly all of this has happened... keep me and mine in your prayers and I will get online as I can!

Love y'all all

Nora
