My shower was neat. It was held a few days before I left California, and so many people I'd known for years came. We included the pictures in our wedding album, as well as photos from the rehearsal. My sister was our official photographer, so she photographed all three events.

Depends on the type of shower: kitchen, linen, general, personal... Mine was personal (so I wouldn't have to haul pots and pans from San Francisco to Boston), so I mostly got house decorations, small pictures, nightgowns and money. My sister had repaired the veil to my pre-owned wedding gown, so she presented it to me that day.
