I almost stopped several times today on my two hour drive home to take pics of thunderclouds and scenery, but I couldn't do it. With two toddlers asleep in the back seat I didn't want to risk waking them up.

Sarah you can post a link to the pics or you can set up a photo album at the top of the webpage where it says photogallery. Or start one online I have a webshots and flickr account.. they're both free up to a certain number of pics

I'm obsessed with shooting small things up close... My lens is almost always on micro mode, and I'm just crazy about pictures with the frame filled up with something...find myself 35mm frustrated with larger things I love macro photography too. In fact, I have a close-up filter that screws into the front of my zoom, magnifying the image up to 6X! I've been bidding on a number of focusing rails on e-bay, but have lost all of them so far. The rails will make it much easier to focus with that magnifier on. As to the scenery, what size lens are you using? If I push my 28-80 zoom all the way out to 28mm I can usually get the entire scene I'm shooting for. And I shoot a lot of ocean pics. And yeah, the size limitations on this site are frustrating, but something is certainly better than nothing. Once I get my home pooter working I'm going to do an album here. Right now I only have the one on MSN that I linked to earlier in this thread.

I guess my font color is too close to the link color. There are 354 copies available from Amazon ranging from $.28. There's one new one for $12.

Very easy to use, and no uploading required. Picasa makes good collages too. Here is a recent beach pic I took with my digital. sea grass and a sea rose quote:

I'm bad, I don't know exactly what setting I have it too when I shoot close, but I usually push the limit to get right into something. I've never heard of rails, but it sounds like it's an extra filter right? Anyway, if I can post the full size, I have a pic of an apple blossom, but when it's full screen you can see the veins in the flower petal.

Sarah, I am always set to macro too. I was actually took a couple of more portrait type photos of my kids a while back and after doing 3 shots and being dissappointed realized I had taken them in the Macro setting. My faves are roses, flowers, anything that when looked at closely you can see the finger prints of God~ How could anyone think He didn't do it all~ create it all when as you said you can see the viens in each petal and each petal is attached in the same manner on every flower and all of that came fromwhat started out as NOTHING but sun, soil, water, and air??? Seeing a tiny bud brust open over night into a 5" blossom of over 100 individual petals! WOW! Any way I could go on and on and on... So my family, candid shots especially~ flowers~ Trees~ leaves~ I am a sucker for a sunset.... I loved living close to DC cause It afforded some Awe inspiring photos of monuments. I have a sony Mavica 4Mega Pixel. it is slow to record, but I love the pocket CD-r's that is how I store my pics... I usually write in marker the dates covered on the dick and what the majority of the photos are of or if it is Birthday for jerry then that. All usually end up in a case which is currently not where it is supossed to be. ~ezri

Hi All, I am using Picasa2/Hello/Blogger also. Had some initial problems but they are all sorted now. There seems to be no limit to the number of photos as I have been loading them in for 3 months now Buddy

Yeah, I just discovered more of my pics on a cigar drive, but my blog is mostly writing so I don't have many pics posted. Picasa/Hello is awsome software, because it takes all the time out of resizing, sorting, finding and uploading. I get to play more!!! A few years back I did shots of frozen drops of water on a barbwire fence after an ice storm, I did this with a 28mm on my good ol' Pentax, before I lost it to water damage. Flowers are my weakness. Dad sees me with a camera and says, "Your not taking pictures of flowers again are you?" I've discovered the preserving power of a picture of a flower vs. having cut flowers around to enjoy. Things to can't see in the dead of winter you can still study and enjoy I want to break into candids more, I did a friends wedding as a back up, and she and her husband liked the shots better than the photographer they hired, partly because I really worked on capturing details. Her bouqet, hair, the water fountain on the cake. I caught some serious emotional moments, between family etc. It was really fun, but I found myself feeling shy at sneaking around when other people were sitting and participating in the wedding. Portraiture has always been a desire, so I started photographing myself (since I don't have any willing subjects) and came up with some interesting pictures. Composing shots is almost as fun as playing with the pictures afterwards, it takes some creativity to get what you want.

I made a scrapbook page of all these light configurations, and called it ,"Let there be light." It turned out really neat, and it's kind of odd in a sense to see different sunsets together, side by side.

Thanks for this thread. I recently moved up to a Canon Digital Rebel (aka 300D), but I haven't had a chance to get out and really use it much. Hopefully tomorrow my son and I will be heading down to Glenrose (south of Fort Worth) for some small town hospitality. I'll shoot as much as I can and post online after processing in Photoshop CS.
