Cell phones make it easier to be safe, as far as I'm concerned. With the amount of milage I drive, I don't like being on the road without one.

I'm the same way Darcy. I hate travelling without one now.

Dh is working this morning. He hates working Sundays and tries to avoid it if at all possible but this week jobs just got out of hand and several ran overtime so the leftovers have to be done today.

I'm going to try and get the house in order seeing as I didn't yesterday because I wasn't feeling well.

Well, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Want to work at a youth lock-in? Or at least pray I survive the one I'M going to work at tomorrow night?

I'll pray!

I have often said to dh, who bailed a lot when we had toddlers, that I plan to retaliate by going into hibernation when J and X hit their teens. Having a lot of nieces and nephews not that much younger than me made me very aware of just how interesting the teen years can be.

I'll take toddlers anyday.

Yeah, I will admit I love teens, but they can be INTERESTING, sometimes! And overnight in a church full of 'em will be even MORE interesting!

Yes! Keeping those boys and girls zones clearly defined is always fun.

I'm nearly done with all the cleaning I was planning today. I just have to wait for the kitchen floor to dry so that I can get in there and work on the cupboards.

Hi Kylie.

Did you manage to get to church this weekend?

Not this weekend. Dh hit his head at work yesterday and came home with a sizable egg on his head so we decided to take it easy.

I've decided that I've waited long enough on this new job and am going to start applying for other positions today.

Ouch about DH's head! How's he doing?

Any news about either your training or a new job?

Dh is doing fine. He just had a bit of a headache and a huge egg for a while.

Jobs - I interviewed for one this morning working in job placement of all things. I think the interview went really well. I left with the interviewer saying he was going to contact their HR dept so I hope that's a good sign.

I am also interviewing for a completely different type of job this afternoon - sales job fitting wigs.

I have the second interview for the job placement position on Tuesday. I really hope I get this one. I think it would be a great stepping off point to use all my skills from previous work in a new career.

I am really tired tonight. I think that's probably because of the emotional drain of a two hour interview this morning.

Then I had to take J, X and A swimming followed by my piano lesson and then a text from a close friend to ask if I would pick up one of her boys on the way to school tomorrow as she is taking her dog to be put down.

It's been a hectic, emotional, full-on day.

Here's a question though - I had to tell the interviewer how friends would describe me in two words. So, it's open slather, what do you say to that?

My sister answered that question with 'gregarious'. LOL

I had another hectic day today. I think I've been busier and had more demands on me emotionally the last week than I had while working. I'm almost looking forward to starting work again so that I can slow down.

Dh has just gone to pick up J from Youth Group. I commented to him that I can remember when we were in Youth Group, going ice skating with Mr S. That really doesn't seem so long ago and yet it seems like I must have known dh forever to be able to remember a connection between us at that young an age.

Any plans for the weekend?

John and Joan's 34th wedding anniversary is today, so we're going to go down to the jetty and grab some subway as a mini celebration.

Come home and bath Bailey. He needs it. It's supposed to be 31 today, and only getting hotter from here on in.

We're heading down to the Sofotel at Broadbeach for a tour (I'm guessing an attempt to sell us something) at the end of which we get free tickets to Wet'n'Wild.

I told dh that if they start trying to sell us something he has to stay focused on my piano and the timeframe. We have to be home for J's saxophone lesson by Midday.

Tomorrow morning we're heading for church.

Yes, but we'll have to use them soon. The children's ones are fine until next year but the adult ones expire in July.

I'm going to be applying for more jobs today. After the mess around with the first one I'm not chancing someone not getting back to me.

Interview 1 - 1pm today
Working in retail kiosk

Interview 2 - 11am tomorrow
Working in a reasonably high pressure office environment

Other job hanging out there somewhere - Expecting call back
Talked to the manager at the local store for that job I originally applied for and they now have positions available so I rang the head office and told them that I was still interested in the job as this site is only 300m from my home.

Resume hanging out there - won't hear back until next week
Receptionist at optometrist

I discovered something today. I can watch all the 'So You Think You Can Dance' clips without having to deal with listening to all the ads and judges comments. I think I'm going to be doing my viewing online with that one from now on.

I was surprised at the couple who ended up going home. Admittedly, his last dance wasn't the greatest. A couple of times, I thought he'd end up off the stage, or at least falling over. I didn't think it should have been her that went home. I would have put the last couple out out of those couples.

I actually wasn't surprised at who went home.

I think being in the bottom three was a huge shock for Rhiannon. She really believes she's better than that. I can understand her drive, having lived near Minto, but I do think she needs to develop some humility.

I got offered the office job. I start on Monday.

Thanks Darcy!

I'm excited, nervous, looking forward to being full-time again after so long. And getting to use my skills in a completely new field for me - employment. It will be interesting how my real estate skills transfer over.

The funny thing is that I didn't start out looking for a job like this one, didn't even start thinking of going full-time. The job, the location and the timing just all fit.

But someone did prophesy over me a few years ago that I would work in this field.
